Howdy Guys & Gals,
[This is my first post so dont shun me if i did something wrong.]
I bought my first bike (that actually fit my size) a year ago for school commuting, and i absolutely loved it!
However, i want to start competing. I signed up for Tour de Cure in Houston (63 miles) and although im confident i can do it in a fixie. Im pretty sure next April when MS150 comes around it wouldn't be a good idea to do so. After that i plan on taking on a Triathlon in around a years times. (I was already athletic prior to biking im just incorporating it into my lifestyle)
So im looking into buying a bike that will be serve its purpose for a year long commitment. I dont want to spend too much money so that if i dont end up liking it... i dont have too much money invested in it. Id love to spend around 500, but am ok spending somewhere like 700 tops.
I found a couple bikes that kind of fit what im looking for but am not sure whether not its a good buy or if its actually what i want.
2008 FUJI Aloha 1.0
Trek 2100
2013 Motobecane
I live in Houston and ride a 61cm, I dont mind making a trip somewhere in Texas to pick up a bike. I wouldnt mind having a fixer up either, Something that needs upgrades or whatever.
Thanks again!
