Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Nearby LBS has the same thing for $2600. I almost bought it, but got the 2014 Ultegra Di2 version instead.

Probably closer to 2.9k, if it's new old stock, pays to bargain, they would be wanting to shift it to make way for new stock.

You couldn't build the bike from parts for that price. If it's the bike you want and it fits, I'd say its a fair price. In my mind whether a bike is a year or two, or five years old, if it has good components and is decent value for the dollar, then age is irrelevant.

Think $3,100 good deal or should I go lower?

I think the key question is, would you buy this bike if money weren't an issue? That's more important than squeezing the bike shop for an extra couple of hundred. Figuratively speaking, if someone offers to sell you a sports car and what you really want is a stretch limo, it does not matter if you get a rock-bottom price for a sports car.

$3100 seems decent, the frame alone is around $1500 on ebay. the only downside is that its 10speed, you can get 11sp ultregra for $700 on ribble

Part of the value proposition of this bike is RED groupset. Between EVO frame and RED group, it's likely going to be under 16 lbs without pedals, and relatively heavy wheels are the only thing keeping it from being under 15. It does not make sense to buy it and then tear out the group. If the OP is going to buy it, he better really like riding on RED.

I bought '12 Supersix Ultegra Di2 in Nov '12 for $3000. Same wheels, same-level saddle, non-EVO frame. I think $3100 may be a little high but $200 wouldn't be a deal breaker for me if I wanted the bike. Besides, the comment mentions free pedals. If it's Speedplay Zero Stainless and the OP does not have good pedals, that's as good a choice as any, and they retail for $200 anyway.

It's going to be 3,300 with tax out the door.

Nothing wrong with the 2012 Evo HM, its the same frame used for the current 2014 EVO HM.
Only thing is the Sram Red lacks the Yaw function of the current model.
$3100 isn't an out of this world deal, but not a bad one.

That frameset, used on ebay, goes for around $1500-2000.
Consider that u will get a set of $200 pedals with it, why not if you like that bike.

Is it worth $3100 new from a dealer, I think so, but it never hurts to try and bargain for more discount.

Squeezing or getting fair market price? Seems like other dealers have sold same bike for less

What would you guys pay for this bike new from Dealer with 6% sales tax. Or what's a fair amount? Or what's a good deal I would pay?

Black Friday, previous model year (they were already getting '13's in). And it's a cheaper model than your Evo 2 RED (IIRC it had MSRP 4500 or 4700). This was a one-day sale (the store had these listed for 3500 otherwise). By Black Friday they were already out of 52's and I ended up getting a 54. I recall seeing the same bike there several months later listed for 3000, but by then they were down to size 56 and 58.

If 1 more cog makes that big of a difference....I am doing this biking thing wrong. 1 cog will not ruin a bike nor hold the rider back and for the price it's a killer deal

The Evo has a fairly short HT so unless you are small and flexible it's hard to get the bars where you need them without some spacers.
