Got my first flat . . . NOT!
I did a short hill repeat ride today and as I was crossing a bridge on my way home, I ran over some debris and heard the dreaded "pop! hissssssss . . . " My soul deflated -- it was hot (104-107 heat index, Garmin showed 104), my bottle was almost empty, and the last thing I wanted to do was fix a flat.
And then I remembered I went tubeless when I bought my new bike. And then the hissing went away after about 30 seconds, with no visible deflation in the tire. So I kept riding, keeping an eye on the tire the rest of the ride home. Got home, cleaned the tire, and found a small puncture hole that'd been sealed by the sealant. The whole ordeal cost me 5 psi.
Considering the excellent ride quality, and the puncture resistance, I will never go back to traditional tubed clinchers. I'm sold!
