Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

For all that specator knew, the "victim" could have stuck a pump in the "offenders" spokes a mile back. Too quick to judge. Funny clip, though.

I thought guy 1 started to cut across guy 2's path, and guy 2 fended him off with more violence than turned out to be sensible?

I think its fake. When he's pushed to the wall,he seems to be trying himself to make it.

I had the exact same reaction when I watched it.

No, I think it looks that way because when he get's pushed, he steps on his own bike.. he's standing on his precious front wheel, (you can see the cleats latch onto the spokes) and his first reaction is to get off of it and he uses the wall to do it. But the attacker seems to have gotten the same impression as you guys did, as he seems to decide to help him over at that point.
