Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Shimano Polymer Cables

With all the hype over the noticeable quality of the new polymer coated cables, I am thinking of going to those when I change housing soon. I have a couple of questions though.

Is there any difference between the 6800 and the 9000?

Is the housing different, or can I use the plain "off the roll" black housing at the bike shop and just buy cables?

You can use whatever but Shimano includes the SP41 housings with the cable kits. Those housings are pre lubricated so they should be slicker.
