Sounds like a great way to ruin some expensive shorts while setting yourself up for a nice bacterial infection.

Unless you have some type of infection in your plumbing, urine is actually pretty sterile.

I think if any of us did that at any point in our lives, we probably outgrew it by the time we were about 3 years old.

What you do in your shower is up to you ... but it's just not on to do something like that in a public place like a swimming pool.

Ever swim in the ocean? Or a lake?

Fish don't use port-a-potties...

auldgeunquers 12-29-14 02:17 PM

No. No. Nope. Never.

This is why I don't willingly do pools. Ok ... the moose and the fish pee in the lakes and the rivers, but still ... if the water is such that nothing can live in it, why would I want to put my live body into it? And lakes and rivers have natural processes to process the pee and poo that enter the system. ... Wonder how much of the salt in the oceans originates as urine ...

I am now an extra measure leery of group rides too ...

Certain of you may NOT shower at my place. Ever. Well maybe ... if you scrub the tub after each and every use. Twice.

This kinda reminds me of the controversy over scuba divers peeing in their wet suits.

did it! that's a warm fuzzy feeling!!

Just pee directly on the top tube? It will run down the frame and keep the chain fresh

who drafts who in this case?

From a practical standpoint you have a larger surface area so its better if she drafts you, plus you have the ability to aim where your pee lands, thus guaranteeing a golden draft.

This guy should post a photo on the "photo of YOUR bicycle near water" tread.

My scuba diving friend said that 90% pee in their wetsuits, & the other 10% are liars.

As far as I know, members of this group have not sunk into disease & depravity.

Already did..

Guys lets keep it on track. One of ur comments made me think, is pee more corrosive than sweat? I'm assuming sweat is moreso than water.

(tried to cut/paste Seinfeld pic of George getting caught peeing in the shower - epic fail)

Winter threads on this board are really entertaining.

I don't think he's aiming... Incognito is the word!

Well, I guess I am the only one that urinates on a bike (while raining of course). I do want to start practicing the pull it out while riding technique but I don't think it'd be nice riding around the cars here with my thing out peeing all over my legs.. I'll try it on a rainy day if anything. Also, the catheter option seems pretty reasonable as an alternative.

To those that contributed, thanks for the advice.

I dunno about peeing on a bike, in a wet suit diving sure but on a bike its damn easy to jump off and find a spot real quick.

So this talk of peeing has reminded me of a prank I pulled many years ago.
I was a lifeguard at a summer camp for elementary aged boys around 9-12 years old. One day my fellow lifeguards and I decided it was time to see who was honest and who was not. In the middle of swim time I blew the whistle and ordered everyone out of the pool. There were about 100 boys and I told them to all line up against the fence that enclosed the pool area.
As they stood along the fence I marched up and down the line like a drill sergeant. I began to tell them we had a serious problem. I, as lifeguard, was in charge of water safety and therefore had to test the water for bacteria. I had tested the water, I told them, and it was not clean. The test was conclusive and showed that somebody had been peeing in the pool. I demanded to know who the culprit was.
After several minutes, 100 scared faces looked up at me. Not a one was willing to admit what every single one of them had done. Until finally, one brave, and perhaps honest-to-a-fault, little guy slowly raised his hand. Such courage.
I told them all that the test had shown that it was more than one person. It had to be I said. So I gave them a stern warning to stop peeing in the pool, rewarded the one honest boy with a candy bar and sent them all back into the water.
Later, as I thought about it and even now as I tell this story, I am amazed that not one of those boys hesitated to jump back into the water after my speech was concluded.

Obviously this sorry thread has run out of gas.

Buh bye!
