Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Bikes: 2013 Specialized Roubaix SL4 Expert Compact

We ride around in skin tight spandex and worry about how a plastic disk looks?

Just buy some of those £2000/liter legal doping drinks to make up for it.

Haha, thanks for all the replies. I actually think I'll try and leave it on. Knowing my luck my RD will somehow get fubared and it may help.

I was going to actually also ask about the reflectors in the wheel spokes. I didn't know those weren't cool- one of my bike cop buddies gave me a ribbing about that. I'll probably keep them too...

I usually leave it on until the first time I pull the cassette to clean it.
