Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Specialized shoes

Just wondering if anyone knows if Specialized changed their shoe sizing? I have an old pair of Sworks I was looking to replace. I tried Bonts and they just didn't work for me, they were a little too narrow. So I decided to just stay with Specialized. I bought a used pair the same size as my old ones and they feel at least a size too big. I guess that's the last time I buy cycling shoes online.

I wont advocate bont because they didn't fit me all that well but if you are looking for wide shoes you are better off with bont wides than s works. Even sidi megas. I have fairly wide feet and my bont wides have extra room on the toe box which my s works did not have at all. While the arch on the bonts may be a problem for me, the width is definitely more than adequate. And take into consideration that my bonts are one size too small in the length dept but they still provide better bloodflow to my toes than the s works ever did.

I have 3 pairs of Specialized shoes, ranging from 7 years ago to 2 years ago. They are all the same sizing. BTW, you have to pay close attention to Specialized sizing and use the CM as the reference because the normal Euro/US conversation doesn't work well with Specialized.

I just got some new Comps and they are a true fit to me. Previously got some Shimanos and they were too big.

I have 17 year old specialized shoes, and had 2010 comps, 2012 pros, and 2015 experts, all the same size. The sizes did change a bit, as the shoes from this decade do have a bigger toe box and I can fit into a size smaller, but like the small amount of extra room in the toe.

Both pairs are size 43, my old pair are 2008 or 2009 model and the new to me pair are 2013s. The newer pair feels uncomfortable on the bike after about 20 miles.
