Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

is this bike worth? giant tcr2

hey,

I'm checking out a bike and was wondering if it was worth. I've been able to negotiate to $550. as a beginner I'm not too sure so i need a bit of help.

its a Giant TCR 2: 2009 model, 6000 series road model, Shimano gears, Schwinn seat, Kevlar forks, stub and seat post, Cateye. Recently serviced. with tri bars; new cassette, sprocket and chain, recent service, includes Serfas TSL150 headlight, Cateye computer, taillight, and near new Airtool HP pump, security cable. Everything in excellent condition.

cheers

Looks more like a 2003-ish, and is not worth anywhere near the asking price imho.

Agreed. It's not a 2009. Also, it's set up to shift from the tri bars and not from the hoods. This is more of a niche bike or custom to a user's preference. It's probably not where you want to start. I also wouldn't pay near $600 for a bike as old as this. If you actually found the 2009 model for $550, that might be alright.
