Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Got the bibs and some merino wool socks today. Jacket will be here tomorrow. They run true to size, fit like a glove. Very good quality, I'm impressed.

Went on a ride to test it out. The jacket is really light, the fleece inside is real thin. All I wore underneath was a sleeveless wool baselayer. When I started out it was 34 degrees and it was 58 degrees when I got home. Never got cold and never overheated, I did unzip the jacket a little the last few miles. I tend to get hot at lower temps than most I know so I was suprised I didn't sweat, I thought it was still in the high 40's when I finished. It breathes really well and has a wide temperature range for me. It's cut really well, not too loose but plenty of room for more layers below freezing. The bibs are the most comfortable I've ever had, the seams are in the perfect places. The jacket zipper is nice, easy to grab and adjust on the fly. Not a bad winter setup for less than $200. The quality actually seems a little nicer than Castelli. And there's no red logos that peel off after two months. Any summer gear I buy next will be Sportful. And that's my review

This has been my experience, too.
The first winter gear I got was Sportful Anakonda (since discontinued). I had a crash in it and ordered something different to replace it (Giordana FRC picked up from closeout, also highly recommended). Although the bibs were shredded and completely unwearable, I just couldn't bring myself to relegate the jacket to the rag bag. I still wear it weekday mornings on solo rides. It's as comfortable as ever.

I've had a Nalini convertible jacket for about 8 years now. At 32 degrees I need more layers than a just wool top, but once it hits 40 I have to stop and remove the sleeves or my arms start sweating. Once it hits 50 it's all just too hot. So this Sportful jacket has a very nice temp range and will simplify my dressing up. Around here it can be freezing when I head out and be 60 degrees when I finish.

Ok, So I will be the word of negativity on Sportful products. My experience with them left me wishing I had not bought their products. Two pair of bib shorts and one regular pair of shorts. One pair of bibs had the stitching come out after two times wearing them. Also I put my thumb right through the mesh webbing on the bib straps. The other pair has a very minimal insert pad and is not very comfortable. I bought them when I was visiting Italy and thus returning either garment was not easy from the US when I lived there. So in my experience I would buy just about any other brand before them. Performance bike wear is much better for budget oriented clothing.
