I just measured them. The steerer is different lengths (shorter on the threaded than the threadless). However, the stem on the shorter steerer is longer than the other. I should get the bikes back...

The reason I'm doing this is becuase the Trek's suspension was crappy, but i liked the frame whereas the GT suspension was pretty decent, with a Mg fork.
