Don't over think it. Buy what you can afford. I use alloy bars because they are cheaper and pretty much the same weight. Either way, I would not worry about sudden failure...

Totally agree. And after you inflate with tubeless tires the spokes lose a LOT tension. I'm waiting for a stronger rim from Stans before I build road tubeless again...

I use a Salsa 45t for my son's bike (w/12-28 cassette). It's not ramped and pinned but still shifts great. You probably won't be able to tell the difference.
