A Novel by an ex frame builder.

I am an ex bicycle frame builder, now a writer with a novel published called Prodigal Child. I have a website www.ProdigalChild.net where reviews of the book and the first four chapters are posted. Also on the site is a lot of bicycle related material you may find interesting.

Here is a synopsis of Prodigal Child.

Prodigal Child is the story of English songwriter Eddie Conner's long road to fame. More importantly, though, it is about his search for accountability and artistic expression that is frustrated by his tendency to solve his problems with his fists. Eddie's demons and his gifts create a tension that leads to maturity and take him from brawler to successful artist, but along the way he misses a number of opportunities.
In the 1960s as a young man, a street fight costs Eddie his chance to be at the forefront of the "British Invasion" and his first appearance on television is an enormous success that ends in his arrest and prison sentence. From his cell, he watches the Beatles and the Rolling Stones skyrocket to success. By the time Eddie is released, it's too late; stardom has passed him by.
From then on, Prodigal Child tells how Eddie capitalizes on his creativity first to get through prison, then to start a career as a sculptor, and finally to become a successful businessman in both England and America. Eventually, Eddie comes full circle, drifting back into music in the 1990s and finding some of the success he missed in the early sixties.

"Who among us is not our own worst enemy? Which of us does not wish for a second chance? Which of us does not have an inner artist trying to break free? Prodigal Child is a satisfying and charming read because it deals convincingly with these very personal, yet universal, issues."

If you have any avid readers in your family or circle of friends please tell them about the website.
