Bike across Australia
Anyone interested in biking across a continent? There is an awesome MTB ride of about 2130 km from the North to the South of Australia in 30 days. Shorter options are also possible. The price is low, just 66 AUD a day/person, including support and a lot of meals. Have a look at www.waywardbus.com.au/outbike.htm

I have been reading "Cold Beer and Crocodiles" by Rolf Smith. It is the story of his solo journey totally around Australia. Temperatures hitting 120 degrees. A hundred miles or more before finding a place to refill his water bottles. Day after day of seeing nothing but sand and more sand.
So, the "supported" trip sounds a bit more attractive. If you make the trip, it would be great if you could post a "diary" in the "touring" forum. The rest of us could enjoy the trip from the comfort of our living rooms.

Well, I haven't read that book, but I know that in Mai it is not hot at all in the Outback, it would worry more about freezing! And I already went with a car on a part of that route and there was water everywhere, but yes, the support is not a bad thing to have so it will be very comfortable! Looks like you are not very adventurous!
