Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Starting the OFFICIAL Steel club.

Why not, everyone else has a club!

Looking for updates from new members, members with new bikes, bike upgrades etc. You just need to post in the thread to join, of course with a picture of your bike/s - for the messages on how to join.
No rules, no fees, just fine steelies that we love to own or yearn for, frankly there isn't a better club.

Membership list was last updated Feb 13th 2011 - 430+ Members to date!

My steel bike has more steel then your steel bike. 10 - 7- 10 wall thickness for main tubes.

That was a 60cm (c-c) Trek 400 single speed conversion that I recently completed. It's been sold.

Waiting on my Kirk and Serotta to return from paint...

Discussed bicycles with Simon Firth from Bilenky Cycle Works back in 2003 at a NYS bike swap. A very nice fellow who happens to build beautiful steel bikes. I wonder if Simon is still at Bilenky these days?

I met him briefly when I stopped by there last month. He cut the tubes for my Tourlite, Stephen did the brazing.

Oh, and here's my steel bike, as it was when I bought it. It's currently stripped apart and getting ready to be re-painted. Sorry for the bad pic. When it gets put back together I'll take some good pics.
