Is it just me, or is this a really ridiculously good deal @ $1250?

Strip all those stupid gears off and repaint it, might make a nice conversion.

This has got to be a joke. If not then jump on that thing, that is if it is still there. That is an extremely good deal.

Don't forget to grind off the cable stops and guides. OH, you might have to cold set the rear triangle

Colnago MasterX with quite a few nice parts...but I can't help but ask, is it really worth $3000? Understanding that all the components are top quality, it just makes me wonder what kind of rider would want that expensive of a bike unless its a strict track bike?

In my humble opinion, that bike is worth no where near 3 grand. Especially set up as a single speed. More like 1.5k

When it comes down to it, it's just a super sweet looking fixed gear. Yeah all of the parts are nice, but it's pretty unnecessary imo. As a function over aesthetics kind of person, I can't imagine spending more than $2k on what is essentially a commuter bike. Sure you could tour on it or whatever, but I could get a really nice road frame with some upgrades for that price.

This is the kind of fixed-gear I find on my local Craig's List:
