Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

having just picked up a kettler, i can say for sure that at least the 'air navigator' model is, in fact, sort of a hybrid...

you can freewheel like a singlespeed, but if you apply back-pressure, a ratchet engages in that direction as well and re-locks the cranks to the wheel so you can apply further back-pressure. there is also a stick-style hand brake.

My friend told me his friend is selling this bike, I just wanted to know what you guys think? I'm not buying, just in terms of how nice the bike is, worth the price, whatever whatever.

^ So typical, King headset, Thomsons, Sugino 75, Veeps to Phil...the usual over-priced bling bike.

This frame is actually extremely tempting for me though...
https://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/va...020821741.html

-57cm road frame
-Campy headset
-recently sandblasted, powder coated, mint.
-comes with fairly new bb, square taper, italian threading
-been used only for a few months, treated like a first born.
-Nitto 100 handle bar stem
-throwing in seat, seat post and handle bars free.
-debossed Moser logos on lugs and forks

-price firm.

avail to check out this weekend!

Well my friend you are between a rock and a hard place. You convert it and you're a hipster dbag. If you don't then you're a closet roadie with no real love for fixies. I'd tell you just buy a sputnik.
