Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

My guess would be a bike frame.

As always, picked up the new bike, first ride, in the rain. Couple miles, happy.

Get used to the pedals and shifters and it will be better.

Wish I could have found a seat post, but this works and the bike really has no
great valve so no harm done.

Ride its some and we are going to cut the steer post off. Easy to cut off, hard to
add on.

Not a great picture, we are in the middle of a remodel and it is pouring down rain
outside..

Couple miles in a light drizzle, hard to tell that much, but seemed OK, no big
problems noticed. In fact, it was a nice ride, played with the shifters. The least
bit of misalignment, the sound comes through the seat tube and sounds like
a loud speaker. Going to put some foam and a cap on it.

One thing, these were new, unbuilt frames, there for, no serial numbers, years
from now, this bike may drive some one nuts trying to figure out what it is, was..
It is for sure, one of a kind.

It is going to the graphics shop to have the silver letters on the fork changed to
gold leaf to match the rest.

Is that a suspension seatpost? I usually don't like the big fat carbon forks they make these days with their lack of graceful curves, but I wonder if that'd be a better match aesthetically for your huge seat tube and downtube. Overall, very interesting.

IMHO, the Salsa is going to be a nicer bike to ride than the proposed buildup of the Javelin.
I was thinking the same thing.
My experience with TT frames and forks is that they aren't built for comfort.

No, The seat tube was cut from another bike frame, I didn't bother to check the size. It turned out
to be a weird size and the only seat post I could find was a used chrome one. The boot just hides
the post.

I had planned on ordering a nice CF post, but 24.5 is hard to fine.....

It is finished, all the tweaking is done, I hope. Have ridden it maybe fifteen miles or so. Changed the
pedals till I get more accustom to the bike, first bike with drop bars and tube shifters.

Very Very happy with the way it turned out. The gentleman that built the frame and a semi pro rider
rode it today. They were impressed with the bike. They said, "You got it right!".

Had the logo on the fork done in gold leaf to match the rest.

No offense intended, and it may ride OK, but it looks like you built it using all leftover parts (NTTAWWT).

If you read my earlier post, that is exactly what we did. That was the plan from
the beginning. The tires are new.

The bike may only be ridden two or three times in it's life. It was just a project to do because
I was given the frames.

I was told it was a road bike, I am going to do a flat
bar roadie with it, compact double, ten speed on the
back. 25's or 28's not sure yet, we have some bad
roads around here. Just going to be sort of a beater.
I have a new Salsa custom.

I like the look, it has a new fork, seat post, both CF.
The frame is aluminum. two minor chips in the paint.
What you see in the picture weighs four pounds.
It seemed cheap to me. I was told it is a 2008?
I think the frame has a certain grace to it's look!

That would be a bicycle frame.
