Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

lol i found it funny....

sooo i was perusing the bay of E, and came across this frame....

reading the description, it says:
Very nice Simonette fixed gear track frame and fork. Frame is constructed from 7005 aero aluminum and is very light and stiff. Fork is a straight leg chromed Colombus steel. It has an aero tapered down tube and seat tube. The color is a dark blue. Comes with a Chris King 1" headset. This frame was hand made by Mike Howard, aka "The Hair Bandit"

lol what?
upon a quick google search:

Arrest of Alleged 'Hair Bandit' Startles Friends
Crime: The suspect's relatives say they noticed a recent personality change
https://articles.latimes.com/2002/jan/05/local/me-20494

So apparently the builder of this frame started doing drugs and let his hair fetish consume him to the point of becoming the "hair bandit' where he came from behind women and cut their hair with scissors, NINE different times? holy carp.

apparently he got 8 years in prison.

part of me sort of wants to buy the frame for the sole reason of being able to say my bike's frame was built by the hair bandit lolol

The backstory on the builder is pretty whack. I like the bike though.

Bikes: Absolutely

I bet he stashed the last of his hair collection in the seat tube, and he's getting his wife to sell the frame on eBay. When he gets out of prison, he's going to use your contact information supplied from the eBay transaction to find you, kill you, and take back his hair.

can you weave human hair into glue and mold it into parts like carbon fiber? that would be cool.

Very disturbing ? The direction of the thread & the responses here that is ? With a wild enough imagination, no comment.

All frame builders have hair fetishes, I thought that was commonly known?
