the Big Fix

June 2006

Fixed-gear ride from Davis, Ca, to Boston, MA

Benefits: Histiocytosis Association of America

My daughter, Dakota, age 6, was diagnosed with this rare and deadly illness last year.
Now soliciting riders--part or all. Full ride MUST be on fixed gear. Mountain wheels/cogs available.
Fully supported, riders asked to solicit $$$, possibly product.
Phil Wood just signed on to supply hubs.
Full ride limited to 10 riders.
All guest riders welcome.

Good luck! I don't have a fixed gear, but perhaps this is the excuse I need to take the plunge. There is a specific forum for fixed gear and single speed. If you haven't yet spread the word there, check it out. Once again, good luck!

Histiocytosis--or langerhan's Cell histiocytosis is a rare neoplastic disorder striking 1 in 250,000 to 1 in 750,000 children. It is fatal in 80 % of children diagnosed uner th age of 2. My daughter, luckily was diagnosed at age 5, and is now doing fairly well.
