Gastro, Maelstrom, Raiyn, LowCel, and all others...
here are some photos of my mountain bike that i was working on over the summer. i appreciate the advice from everyone on this forum. i have learned a lot since joining in may. i am proud to say i have been converted to a mountain bike expert since then
hope you like it!!
brian

here is the rear disc adapter i purchased. it seems like a sound set-up. i will have to let you guys know if i encounter any problems with it. i could certainly see why some of you 6+/200+lbs guys would be leery

can you make out the X-Ray Grip shift? when did they stop making those?
hope you like it!!

wow! that looks great!
I might as well ask now for the build specs...
3 questions:
1) Did you have any fitment issues with the Woodman Disco?
2) What hubs are you running?
3) and most importantly, how does it ride?

1) yes. i did have to use a dremel tool. i was VERY proud of my dremel "machining" skills. (another skill to add to my list of skills...dremel skills
)i spoke with the guy from WOOdman, who was very nice, and he just said that sometimes people do have "doctor" it up a bit. he just said that they wouldn't be able to make it fit EVERY frame out there...understandable.
2)well...you have to use the WOOdman hub as a complement to the brake system.
and since i like uniformity, i chose a WOOdman front hub as well. they are okay...probably comparable to XT hubs or so. they are cartridge bearings and not cone for what it is worth. i am happy with them. however, i don't have the experience to compare with other ones.i am using DT spokes...supercomp i think. the ones with 3 different diameters. i believe 2 at the hub to 1.7 to 1.8 at the nipple. i am also using DT brass nipples with the pre locking compound inside. i don't know what you guys think of those DT products....
3)it rides great! i will have to update you all as i get more ride time on it. i just recently found trails so i will be getting more time on it now.
the front end feels VERY light. i don't know if it is too light or not but it raises its front pretty easily.
