I have been meaning to take some pics. Probably won't happen for a few days though.

Vintage jerseys are the best and the worst. So sweet looking, but super itchy (wool) or sweaty (wool/acrylic blends or that awful polyester krap), unless you've got a really nice wool jersey. I've got a Rossin jersey for my Rossin, and a Cinelli jersey (pink and yellow splash!) for my Cinelli, and though they look great, just thinking about riding in them in the summer gives me the willies.

Show Us Your Vintage Jerseys
Are you really sure that this is what you want?
O.K., here we go ...
T.I.-Raleigh Creda 1980
(with "World Champion stripes", only Raas & Knetemann were allowed to wear them)

T.I.-Raleigh McGregor 1979
(with the McGregor print on black ground, from the year Jan Raas won the WC)

T.I.-Raleigh McGregor 1978
(without the black bar; oops, with the wrong frame - sorry, that is a 1979
)

Gitane Campagnolo 1976-77
(Lucien van Impe won the 1976 Tour de France wearing these colors)

Miko Mercier 1977
(what "Poupou" Poulidor & Zoetemelk wore, wrong year for my frame but I liked these colors better)

Motobecane LaRedoute 1980
(not really pretty, but it belongs to the night-blue-lots-of-chrome bike that in return looks great!)

Gazelle Vredestein 1985-86
(this is even an original, formerly raced by team member Roland Pothuizen)

GIS Gelati 1979-80
(the one for the Saronni red Colnago)
1979-80.jpg)
Hey, this is fun!
What's next, vintage caps

OK, here are 5 jerseys, all bought and worn by me in the early to mid-80s. The first three are wool.
I also have, but couldn't find, a Skil/Shimano, another Geweiss/Ballan, and a Carrera Jeans jersey.

No, this Raleigh lives with my parents ('cause it's NOS and very unexperienced, so it shouldn't be left alone all day long ...). They get on well together, Mom and Dad have adopted it.
Me myself I have another one, a 1980 version to ride around on (and to adore at times
).
I WANT !!!
In earnest - nice stuff you have there, I really like the candy colors of the Motta and this Boule d'Or is a gem!

I have a slightly different Miko Mercier, jersey, I think from 1979 with VivaGel as one of the sponsers... from what I have rear, it would have been the same as the one Joop wore to his Vuelta win.
Here one I sold recently

I've got a wool winter cap like that, a Butch Martin Protogs brand. Bought it when I worked at the LBS many years ago. Black on one side, reversible to what at the time was an ugly peasoup green & black on the other side. I didn't know that 25 years later it would be a good match for my modern Bianchi.
I also posted in Catch of the Day last month a couple of $3 thrift store jerseys I scored.

This is one of my favorites. It's even 100% acrylic.

I have one made by kachurik that is a mainstay of winter riding. Have tried other brands, but theirs is the only one that fits my big head. great hat.

I think this Alfa Romeo De Rosa one is from a 1986 team from the United States. I'll add it over at velobase.com too....

Since starting this thread I've picked up a few vintage jerseys:
probably my favorite so far. Been wearing it on my commutes and touring.

so ugly it hurts to look at it. Love it.

I can't wear this one right now because its so tight and I have sunburn from a long ride i did this past weekend, but I can't wait to give it a try.

Not really vintage but I love it anyway. Goes nice with my Bianchi.

My vintage Merckx jersey with my 1988ish Merckx Corsa Extra

This Banesto jersey is like the ones worn by Miguel Indurain. Miguel Indurain's five-year reign over the Tour de France comprised the bulk of what would be Pinarello's golden age. Adding on the victories of Riis and Ullrich, Pinarellos would dominate the race for seven years straight. 1994 would be the last year the Tour de France was won on a steel bike, this time an Oria-tubed, TIG-welded machine badged as a Pinarello but rumored to have been made under contract by legendary Italian builder Dario Pegoretti. The bike is my 1993ish Pinarellos Gavia

Hey... this is Sweden = winter jersey/jacket. Worlds colours come from the Pettersson brothers amature worldchampionships in Team TT 1967, 68, 69.

And it is from the 70-ies:

I've managed to acquire a few vintage Raleigh jerseys in team colors. This example is a jersey worn by the SRC (Skunk River Cyclists, the team run by Mike Fatka in Ames, Iowa) in the early 80's....

I had the pleasure of being in Durango in 1982 to see the Iron Horse Classic race. The SRC riders were wearing this jersey at that time.....

It's always fun to have a connection with the history of the sport!

ca. '84 Boule d'Or jersey w/ ca. '83 cap in front-left. Boule d'Or (a cigarette mfr.) was not allowed to be shown on the riders for some races, or so the story goes, which is why the Boule d'Or branding is missing from the cap. The bike in the background is an '83.
