Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Great to be on the Hill again! I don't get to that special part of Knox County enough these days.

Doc Severinsen was in the house! Sadly, he didn't play, though.

Kind of funny--it was one of the director's/faculty member's last concert, so people were giving some long-winded tributes. They even had a state senator who came straight from voting on the budget in Nashville there to present him with a signed state resolution. Anyway, the faculty member before him had just literally read something of little interest to the general public (SMH). Doc goes up to the mic and said, "Cathy says I should say something, so 'something.'" That was it. LOL

Have you seen his American Masters episode? Pretty good show. Seems like that was longer ago than a year...

With three guards that'll put up 20-35 each, every game, they're going to be tough to beat.

Striving to be average. It's always a choice to choose the more common, or expect them to be devious, and slide an uncommon letter/word in.

I was pretty happy with the group ride last night, 'specially considering that, as little as an hour before rollout, I was feeling crummy and thought that I might not ride at all.

Both the wife and the girl have fallen ill in the last couple of days, each taking time off from work and school, respectively. So, when I started to feel a bit of a heavy-shouldered fatigue and noticed the sharp uptick of my RHR overnight, I figured I might be in for it. But the weather was as nice as we've had this spring, so I decided to at least ride to the meetup location and feel it out.

I'm glad I did - I was fine. Good, even. There were some pretty lively stretches for an early season ride. Well, for some of us - some have clearly hit the trainer/base miles more than others and the group split pretty regularly. Still, good weather, good ride and the first time that I've had the pleasure of riding with more than two people since VA in December.

The latest dip**** coal roller is sure getting a lot of bad publicity, now on a very wide scale basis, and even on the motoring sites. 😂

Klay looks like his old self. Their defense was pretty good at the end of last night's game. They stifled Denver for the last few minutes.

I know that it's usually a good idea to avoid the comments sections of posts involving cyclists, but I often peek anyway. I only looked through the first 20 or so comments, but I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised, almost shocked, to see universal condemnation of this asshat. That never happens outside of cycling-specific outlets.

Its extremely annoying.
1) Make sure your TAs are tight.
2) Make sure your rotors are run straight - tweak with a disc truing lever or adjustable wrench
3) Make sure your calipers are centered - use the business card trick if necessary (put a folded business card over the rotor/between the pads when centering the caliper)

I would do them in this order, because you may not get great results centering if #1 and #2 aren't done first.

naw, you did that upgrade for your axle. I just don’t remember exactly what you did.

Oh, Robert Axle Project. Really, though, that just an extension of #1 - RAP specifies 12nm torque, which gives you a foundation for #2 and #3.
