Heavy metal? Röckin about 39lbs of it!
Death, and taxes, I suppose!
Yayy, from meeee!
Also, that silent clutch hub was over a pound of weight in there! It was used (or at least purchased and then not used) by the Harvard fuel-mileage championship team on a diminutive prototype car, handbuilt from carbon fiber, until they settled on some BMX gear that could coast with less resistance. I hear that bike cops like them because they can sneak up on people without making noises. A good defense against this tactic is the "racing" rear view mirror I also put in the BOC.![lol](https://www.bikeforums.net/images/smilies/lol.gif)
Ha, I was talking about hubris as @southpawboston and I crammed stuff in. I tend to wax philosophical when I'm working on the impossible. To be fair, the flaps did not meet in the middle when we packed it.

Runner up for MVP: self-energizing cantis, also for my wife's bike.

I consider myself adept at puzzles, but I was wholly unprepared for the task before me. Nearly an hour of Tetris later, and I had to remove some crap to not risk the ire of the postmaster. I thought I could fit it all if I planned accordingly and rotated the brake pads on all the calipers. Utter hubris. I had to remove the following if I was going to have a hope of adding anything

At the last minute, as a BOC series VII alumnus and full of crap as ever, I invited myself over to @southpawboston 's place to partake and add some of my own crap. I trust it is ok with the crapmaster! It was a crappy team effort. I took not nearly as good as I gave, and now the box stands at a whoppingly crappy 38.9lbs!! He got the label and I did the schlepping, so I wasn't freeloading!
Here's my take. And I guess I forgot to photograph, a few toe straps. Seems I am always breaking them! Southpaw may remember me taking more, but that is because I had a good root through his private stash as well! He sure knows how to exercise restraint.

Well, unfortunately after a struggle with the postmaster, this will have to go out a day late. I'll pack it into a new box and see if I can get the top to close without a bulge!

But I've been creeping the site without posting, I miss the community here. With the weather warning back up I've been pondering a build or two, and I think I'm about ready to pick my wrenches up again.
Sorry I dropped off the earth for a while.

I'm back, I've been dealing with some personal things, and after I got those mostly back under control I've been avoiding BF out of embarrassment of abandoning the BoC without asking anyone to take over.
But I've been creeping the site without posting, I miss the community here. With the weather warning back up I've been pondering a build or two, and I think I'm about ready to pick my wrenches up again.

Welcome back, Chr0m0ly - even in just the little while that I've been following the thread (and eagerly awaiting my turn to add new junk to the box), I can see what a labor of love it has been. Glad you're back in the virtual saddle again.

I think the spirit of the BOC allows removal of some of the really crappy crap. I know that when I got it, I purged all the GS and Tourney derailleurs and stem shifters. Anything else like that which is likely clogging the bins at the co-op is fair game.
Chr0m0ly glad you're ok

The Crap has landed.
After acquiring the crap and a hernia from the doorstep, the refuse of wonder is at last being unveiled and evaluated.

My take...
If anyone wants to rehab and use the Regina lighting, please let me know...I just thought it would be cool for the display case...
Remainder will be used for the Favorit when I get to it...
...the purple key chain and light were the gal’s take for attempting to refill the box...

Shadowy take...
Repacked for use

I wonder where that lumino for a velo came from...
I recently began to wonder how such beautiful lights were made out of metal. A little googling around and I discovered spinning metal. Search YouTube and you’ll see some pretty cool stuff.
We humans have such an endless capacity of creativity, we just sometimes use it for the wrong purposes. The world could use more boxes of crap.
