Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Yeah, fake food/gu/whatever for training.

If we're broadening the scope, also overrated:
Most high end audio, especially expensive speaker cables

Expensive cars

iOS
"American Beauty", the film. In fact anything Alan Ball is involved in and most things Sam Mendes is involved in. The two of them together is like a nuclear explosion of pretention.

A $20 umbrella stroller works better in tight spaces, is easier to go through doors, is easier for a kid to get into and out of on their own, is much (much) more compact and easy to deal with on planes and loading into cars, is much lighter to carry, folds in an instant and (most importantly) doesn't make you look like a yuppie first-time parent. For really young kids / babies, backpacks or slings work better in basically every situation.

I'm glad to hear fusion is working out for you, it just what I needed to read. I had a cage plate and 4 screws installed 3 weeks ago at L5-S1 and so far it seems good though i'm still getting over the op. I'm actually riding the MTB gently in total comfort around the house and driveway but don't tell anyone that.

Let's not regurgitate the argument between the haves and have nots. I bought four strollers - three to throw in the cars and one for the house. None were cheap, including two umbrella stroller well north of $40. All worked flawlessly. If you're happy with yours, more power to you.

And I didn't give a rat's ass about being stereotyped. Still don't.

Try living someplace walking-centric. Not owning a car while living in NYC means walking to all of your errands, regardless of weather. Larger diameter wheels handle uneven sidewalks, snow/slush (and other debris) better than smaller-diameter wheels. More robust frames with cargo space makes grocery store trips much easier. Lightweight and collapsible (while still retaining cargo ability) is valuable if you live in a walk-up. Being able to use a rain canopy is great in foul weather or anytime in the winter (child stays warmer). Better strollers last longer - instead of throwing them away, you can keep them around in anticipation of your next child or pass them on to someone else to use.

VW TDi clean diesel.

Roof racks. I'd rather lose a couple bikes from being rear-ended than drive into my garage and screw up the house, car and a couple of bikes.
