EDIT: Dura Ace pedals cost $280 at Excel Sports today.
Yeah, last time I bought pedals from Merlin in the UK they were Ultegra and cost $55, that was in 2015. Prices are going up uniformly, even from the cheap UK guys.

However, you know who will also ship you a cheap pair of Shimano pedals from the UK? Amazon. I don't mean Amazon.co.uk either, I mean US Amazon. If you search for Ultegra pedals, they come up as an "Amazon Global" product shipped from the UK for $77 + shipping.

I didn't say they were cheap, just that there were places that you could get them.

Jeepers! I got a pair of R540 for $5.99, new, a couple of years ago. It was some really crazy deal, but even then, the normal price was maybe $30-$35.
I've been meaning to upgrade to something lighter, but I don't know if it's worth it now.

I started some years ago with R540s, and then switched to 105s. Later, I treated myself to Dura Ace pedals, and to me they were worth the difference.
Then I switched to Favero Assioma's, because, well, power meters. And though I like having a meter, I miss the feel of those D-A pedals. Of all the pedals I've ridden, it was the D-A that had the perfect balancing. When starting from a traffic light, the D-A always were hanging in the right position and I clipped in perfectly. Maybe it's just me, but no other pedal has been so smooth in that way.

The pedals look pretty nice actually, but after testing for a few weeks, they'll go onto my classic Guerciotti which is very rarely used.

How do you know they're genuine? Last time I bought Shimano cleats off Amazon, they were fakes, in fake Shimano packaging and everything.
