Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I've been waiting *24 days for my groupset. (*17 "business days") The original order confirmation included the wrong tracking information. UPS and Merlin claim the package is still in customs, but I requested an investigation. When ordering from Wiggle, ship time was about two weeks or ~10 business days to Miami, FL.

Still waiting. Merlin has not responded to my last two emails so I tried calling them this morning (using Google Voice--1 cent per minute for international calls.) They're claiming that the package is still in customs and that I will be charged duty fees. Totally disillusioned with ordering overseas to save money.

My last order from Merlin was received ~ 14 days with no issues. This is about the same delivery time for Pro Bike Kit.

Has anyone had to pursue legal action against Merlin for non-delivery? I'm still waiting with no ETA and no tracking information. UPS does not have the package in their system. I opened a claim with UPS on the 8th and they are trying to contact Merlin to fulfill the claim.

If Merlin won't make good on the lost item and if it doesn't show up, then I'd contact the CC that you used for payment and initiate a dispute. Your $$ should be refunded if you don't receive the items.

I used PayPal for the purchase and so I just sent a message detailing my dispute of the charge. This is the first time I've used PayPal to report a claim.

Update: I spoke with 'Matt' at Merlin Cycles and he admitted that the original order had shipped to the incorrect address, somewhere in California...

!

Pretty pissed to say the least. I just wasted over a month waiting on nothing. Why would they lie about the package being in customs?

My limited experience has CRC as the faster shipper between the two (CRC and Merlin). Merlin's prices, at least for a lot of things seems a bit lower, with a lower threshold for free shipping based on how much is spent. I love them both.

My New Ultegra crank shipped last Saturday. It's now lost in the aether. Got what I thought was a grreat price...but now I see Performance dropped their price to within $15, and I could have had it last Tuesday for free. Oh well!

As of today, still not here.

The latest info says it arrived in LA on March 31.
On April 8th it departed the USPS facitlity.

I guess it can take 6 or more days to go 800 miles.

My last order from Merlin arrived in 4 days from placing my order. Ordered a bunch of miscellaneous small stuff on a Sunday morning and was on my porch Wednesday afternoon. I selected the free shipping option but they shipped it UPS, no fees or anything from UPS and order was well under the new $800 customs limit. Usually my orders take 10-14 days via Royal Mail/USPS depending on how long it sits at the customs center.

My last Merlin order (a couple of weeks ago): ordered on a Sunday, shipped on Monday, delivered on Thursday. That was way beyond my expectation but partially due to the fact that it slipped through customs and was not charged with HST tax + the $10 Canada Post charge for collection. That is a nice little $800 customs limit you now have in the US. Although bike parts don't incur duty in Canada, clothing is 20% from non-NAFTA countries and we are always held liable for provincial tax although in practicality that doesn't always get charged.

It took 7 days to get my pckage from Merlin to Midwest US with the free royal UK option. Impressive.

I think the moral of the story is it all depends if you caught customs on a good or bad day. My last package was stuck in customs for over a week but this one flew right through.

It must be a law of averages thing. I recently ordered new disc brakes for my mtb from Merlin. They arrrived in 5 days. I have used Merlin, PBK and Ribble multiple times each and they have all been great with no issues. I think that there are a ton of us on this site that use all of them with great success and savings. There seems to be a few bad stories out there regarding each of them but they are probably few and far between. They are no faster or slower than Nashbar. I have had orders from Niagra Cycle take longer than the UK vendors. Like with any online order, if you have a firm deadline for something than you may not want to order from them on the outside chance that something goes wrong. Of course you pay for that convenience. I am willing to wait for most things that I order so I love the savings, which is substantial on most things.

It is a thread from 2015-2016 I think everyone has either gotten their packages or figured things out. No need to update us on stuff you ordered in a thread that is 6 years old. If you really have a new topic that needs to be posted go for it but there is zero need to zombie anything for tracking on a personal package.

I never stated I ordered something 6 years ago. That's a moot conversation.

It's a recent order but since Merlin is still active, holidays deals are active I think some people might be interested in delivery time frame during these holidays 2022.
