When I'm on the trainer, I dig something very heavy and fast like Mudvayne or Slipknot.

Or some epic, high energy D'n'B like Pendulum.

As far as the Hendrix vs SRV in little wing...from a feel and technical stand point SRV owns it in my opinion, much harder to play and a lot more going on. Of course SRV's is an instrumental....so there's that.

Gotta love the old school.
here's some Mary Jane Girls:

God I would kill to be born 20 years earlier and be the bass player in a band like this.

SRV only had to play it. He didn't have to write it from a complete vacuum of things like it before and also sing it.

it's not like SRV couldn't write stuff...look at Lenny...

i am just saying...from a musicians stand point, there is much more going on with SRV's version..

I love Hendrix, don't get me wrong, I just don't think the two are really that comparable other than a handful of songs.

Not necessarily true. I listen to a good bit of rap/hip hop. This guy has a good flow and some pretty tight rhymes.
Most of the rap/pop I listen to is admittedly trash; I know all of the top 40 radio hits at any given time.

I like to listen to pop and rap stations when I drive or have people over.

The only types of music I universally don't enjoy are:
1) Smooth Jazz (think Kenny G)
2) New-School Country

I agree. The phrasing in the the SRV version is mind blowing, and it invokes darn near every emotion. I love Hendrix, and being a Seattle-ite, I'm sure to be stuck by lightning for saying this, but I like SRV's version better.

I enjoy a really wide range of music, but I mostly just listen to hip hop and dupstep. It's weird. I like rock and alternative, but just never really listen to it anymore.

Anyone, one of the reasons I like tyler is that he is young (18), making all his own beats and videos (he produced that video), and is getting some serious recognition. For example, Tyler and Hodgy Beats (another member of their group) were on Jimmy Fallon a few weeks ago.

I LOVE All Night Long! For sure I heard it sampled by Mary J. long before I got my hands on the original but when I finally did I lost it.
