Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

you let me down and this whole thread down. Think of the children! Your ride pics are epic. You need a cell phone that fits in your back jersey pocket. All the cool kids have cell phones.

On an unrelated note, did you get wasted from the burning hippie lettuce from LA?

After the bulk of the climbing we came into town and stopped for snacks where there used to be a Corner Bakery. It was replaced with a fancy restaurant but still had outdoor tables. I ordered truffle fries ($$$) and they were really good. 15+ miles with some climbing after that.

We weren't near there and I didn't hear about it until I got home and the news was on.

Today would have made for some great pics. I kept thinking about it when I was on the long climb. Sorry, I'll try to do better.

Trying to relive my youth and watch a local rocknroll show but I dunno if I can stay up this late. It's already past 8 and they first band hasn't started. The soundcheck about an hour ago was interesting though - 1st guitarist ripped through some Phish/GD psych, 2nd guitarist fired up some Duran/Duran Rio (hella rad!), one of them did Michael McDonald in their vox mic. Whole band some soundcheck was pretty meh though.

Ordered a pint of Pepsi and shot of Jager to try and stay awake but I have a bad feeling the show won't start til 2100 hrs.

Been on a collard greens kick lately. It all started when the Vons shopping app selected collard greens instead of kale, and we didn't notice till we got home.

Oil in the cast iron, ribboned greens, salt, pepper. Toss every 30s till the wilt. Then toss every 60s so they brown - that's the good stuff. Towards the end, garlic and some sort of spice, usually red pepper flakes. Deglaze w lemon juice at the end and toss it all up.

Tonight we threw in a serrano pepper. So damn good.

Finally! This is the band I heard doing soundcheck earlier. N8V bro on lead guitar, insane wahwah and other pedals involved, and he's got a pointy guitar. Life is always better with pointy guitars! (Gibson Explorer in this case)

Whew. Next band has 2 bassists, one 6string, one 4string. Gonna have to assume that this is going to suck. But you never know...

I still can't understand how all these people wouldn't be happier chillin at home watching a movie, but...

I'm mouth gapingly yawning cuz it's late. I gotta go up front and see what's going on cuz I only hear vox, drums, and one bass....

I survived '68-81 on the east coast. Had to ga back and experience the insane humidity a couple times since then. You really don't wanna do that unless they pay you to do so.

Then it magically bounces back to 260. This happened time and time again until I finished the ramp test. The number it gave me was complete bull **** and it was such a waist of energy.

So, I then attempted some 11 min threshold. Zwift changed my FTP based off the ramp test, but after the effort just figured I would do the workout at that FTP. I turned ERG mode off and started the workout. Everything was going pretty well until half way into the 11 min zone 4 interval. My cadence was constant gear was constant, but again the power started dancing. 50 watts would drop instantly, and because I am focusing I would increase to get the power back up, but then it would drastically over shoot.

I stopped after the first one, At this point I decided to do another spin down. I did one before I started the workouts.

Next I tried over unders. This went better than the first 2 but still something wonky is happening.

IMO it should be easier to hold a power on the trainer than outside.
Sounds like an connectivity problem, not a Zwift problem. Are you using bluetooth? If so I recommend ANT+. If the ANT+ receive dongle is old - maybe replace (they're cheap). Otherwise it could be internet.

That would be a more traditional southern approach. Mine were crispy and tangy - "California style", lets say. Very different vibe, also delicious.

Not so. I once felt that way until I met my wife and was stunned to learn that her method, much like David’s, was just as tasty without the fat.

Mrs BD served up some last night, she uses a secret combination of seasonings and plays with different combinations. They’re all good.
