Everesting is becoming a spectator sport! At least one of these guys at the top of the hill turnaround isn't on his support crew
I just could not imagine doing it. I think I tried hill repeats once, just once.

Sailors in Annapolis are supposed to burn their socks at the spring equinox. Personally, I find shoes without socks disgusting, especially when said shoes are off the wearer’s feet, unless the shoes or the owner are impregnated with that silver-based antibacterial stuff.

My wife got me a Treehouse brewery jersey for Father’s Day along with a couple of growlers from our local joint.

Happy Fathers Day everybody!
Sadly Covid will prevent the kids from visiting.
My savvy wife got me a bottle of John Wick’s favorite bourbon, Blanton’s. And for the Juneteenth celebration I got myself a bottle of Uncle Nearest 1856, so I’m all set for a good while.

My wife is taking me out for a Father's Day ride.
For a present, she bought me two face masks with replaceable filters.

I want to try so bad. But being that I come from where the world is flat, it would be interesting to see if I could make it up one or two times let alone 7 hours worth.

Personally. I'm not a fan of higher socks that seem to be in vogue for pro racers. Reminds me of "fred" socks back when I started riding many, many years ago. Fashion is circular so you'll need a drawer-full of different lengths to be in style for each trend.

The hill he's doing them on is a mother, because it's straight up, with a nasty grade. Hitting 70+ on the downhill is totally believable, though I can't imagine it after 7 hours of hard work.

Do you want the UCI regs, the Velominati Rules, or the do-wtf-you-want rules?

current in the do wtf I want stage, but I also don’t want to look like a an idiot if that makes sense. My wife bought me four pair of “cycling race socks”. I use loosely, not sure where she got them, it said cycling race socks on the packaging. I also have two thermal socks that are high for winter riding.

We didn't realize it's Father's Day. Thus no presents. Technically though, I am a step-father, so it's all good.
it is a beautiful morning though, and I will likely not ride, as we are approaching last call to beat the heat. I also received, last evening, a high UV radiation alert for this morning. 11+. Yet another new parameter to learn about as the planet continues to fight back.

In the sock department, you know you don't have to pull them all the way up. If they're too tall, scrunch them down some. If they are a gift from your wife, use them and be willing to 'look foolish'. One does not shun a gift from the wife.

I’m at the stage where I don’t know what looks stupid. I see people on here making reference to riders doing it wrong, I’m not sure what is wrong.
I’m not going to stop wearing them seeds. My bike fund is slow to grow and socks are at the bottom of the amazon list.
