Vintage Bicycle Built For Two - Rare Find
"What a wicked, cool bike! This ride is the essence of cruising. Tandems like these are getting harder to come by. This Sears model is from the late 60's early 70's, when we just called them 'bicycles built for two' This one family owned gem, is in very great shape for any age. This cheerful little double seated cruiser catches a lot of smiling eyes from folks you pass. I inherited this beauty and have greatly enjoyed the bike. There is nothing like taking your bada-- ultimate beach cruiser for a slow summer cruise down the Seawall. You'll be riding off into the sunset with your _____ right behind. People love this bike! I had it displayed in my front yard a few years ago and had numerous offers, but I was still riding it and had no plan to let it go. Time rolls on and now I've decided to let it go to the next lucky owner. The original Sears "head badge" is still present as well as the standard bearing black and read bike badges. Looking for a good home for this beautiful vintage vehicle. **I will remove this listing once item is no longer available. Thanks for looking and good luck!"
Never has so much been said by so few (one) for so little!(not the price, the bike)

As an art bike, it was probably very underpriced at $75. I wonder how it would hold up to rain and use.
I thought it was an interesting design, but I guess I wouldn't be caught dead riding it.
It still kind of makes the skin crawl.

Explain this bicycle! I can't figure it out. This thread is usually reserved for atrocities committed by owners, but this thing left the factory this way.

A running board for the pilot's feet, and a seat for a passenger's, um, seat?

That blue bike reminds me a bit of the Piaggio Mopeds, where the riders often ride with their feet on the flat spot of the step-through frame, and not on the pedals.
However, it is not as effective to ride a bicycle that way.
Any chance that bike would have been made for a non-US market?

Just came across this beauty:
vintage cinelli lazer tandem 5speed
Intrigued, I followed up with the seller, thinking it could potentially be this (but at the same time not really getting my hopes up):
He responds via text with this:
Whew, crisis averted

I like the bug shield on that seat.
I don't have a problem with the photo, but the black spots are a bit excessive. I do wonder about listing it as "new in box" with a photo of it mounted on the bike with the kid in it.
What about a more traditional bike seat? Someone found this one earlier and posted it on the wacky thread... somewhere.

glad I'm not the only one who thought that. Seriously, how hard would it be to take a new picture with, you know, no people in it?
