Perhaps I missed it but how did you find the ride of the Pakit vs. the Brompton? Are you getting one because the Brompton no longer serves or is it a really different type of ride? For myself I like IGH ok but 1700 grams for the Alfine 11 seems a bit much.

They both ride nicely. My S(traight bars) Brompton has a lower & sportier ergonomics. The Pakit(Med/55cm) has bars positioned higher; maybe equivalent to Brompton's M bars.

I'm still keeping my Brompton; although I think I will be replacing the bars with one that has a slight curve. Making it more comfortable on long rides. I'm getting the Pakit to use on charity centuries. And as a basis for a lighter folder. The stock 8 speed chain version is around 21 lbs. Hopefully with additional upgrades(Dura Ace hubs, lightweight saddle, folding Kojak tires, etc.); I can save another pound or two.

Test ride convinced me I need a Pakit. Order confirmed with Bike Friday; hoping 3 month waiting period is worth it.

PakiT was delivered to local BF shop. Going camping this weekend.
Will pick up bike next week. British Racing Green color looks nice. 🙂
