Having captained a tandem, brifters are a better option. I really don't want to move my hands more than needed. Also - while cool, those Paramounts (and most older tandems) are a lot more flexy, with less comfy cockpits, than more modern tandems.

YMMV

Don't get me wrong, it's a pretty tandem.

I can deal with old shifters in odd places and big gear jumps in a narrow range on my personal commute bike. On a tandem where the stoker is likely SWMBO, and likely with a trailer or kid seat, I am sure I will want a very wide range with plenty of steps in it, and quick, accurate, thoughtless shifting between them without moving my hands to upset the bike.

Otherwise I'm likely to have to buy one of those T-shirts that says, "If you can read this the b---- fell off" so I can ride around on my tandem by myself.

If you get a small run of those on merino jerseys from Woolistic done up, let me know.

Any of those "I don't know what this is," but it just so happens to be extremely desirable CL posts kind of look like fishing schemes. There was one in San Francisco a few months back that read something along the lines of "2 bikes for sale, don't know much about them, one says Pinarello and one says Colnago" that turned out to be fake. This ad reads somewhat similarly "everything on the bike sais campanolo all the parts." Also, there's no stated price.

It very well might be real, and it's a nice bike, but I would be careful giving out any personal information before a little vetting via CL email.

Titanium bike with Campy Veloce titanium/campagnolo road bike

But look at the photos closely, is it just the camera or does the non chain side stay look funny?

It's on Ebay now. Wish I hadn't missed at the Craigslist price. Oh well.

Tiny! I'm almost sorry I'm not looking for a small bike at the moment, because decent bikes this size aren't easy to come by.

Highish-end Pug, looks like late '80s or early '90s. These are always quite shocking to see, given that 99% of Pugs that I see for sale are either a) gas pipe boom bikes or b) tired PX10s.

Peugeot 531 steel frame, 54cm. Shimano 600 components.

Yep, if it's leaning against the door you think that angle would tend to curve down more. Could just be an illusion.

Three frames at decent prices, plus a package deal, but no pix yet. Might be of interest to someone.

3 Quality Road Frame/Fork/Headset

3 Quality Road Frame/Fork/Headset - $40 (Mechanicsville)

3 road frames with forks & head sets for sale by quality manufacturers. They still have some original patina but really need to be re-painted if you want a better look. No dings or dents on any of them from what I can tell though. Really would like to sell all 3 for $100 but probably willing to around $40 individually depending on which one. May also consider trade for parts. Sorry no time for pics right now but please e-mail with phone number if interested & I will get back with you shortly. Frames are listed below.

-58cm black Cannondale 80's road frame

-58cm light blue True Temper Trek 400 series

-56cm silver & black Shogun (The logos were stripped but I believe this to be a Shogun 1000 or better) Currently has a Shimano 600 head set.

  • do NOT contact me with unsolicited services or offers

Just an illusion, bike is in perfect shape. I just don't like the fit.

condition: like new

These are two wonderful road bikes that were completely refurbished with new parts two years ago, purchased at a bike swap, and NEVER USED. Brand new condition!
1) Trek 330 frame (for a woman around 5' 6")
2) Fuji frame (for a man around 6 feet tall)

$100 obo for BOTH. Would like to see them go to a good home where someone will actually get good use out of them!

Finally, a bar graph to prove that the bike is laterally stiff, but vertically compliant!
