Down 17 pounds, but I think the first reading when I got back from holidays (99kg) must have been off by a few pounds (water retention or something) - so probably more like 12-14 pounds lost since the start of October.

looks like when we finally get to do the ride to New Haven, you're gonna be so far ahead that you'll be eating pizza while we pull into the city. This does mean, however, that you'll be tasked to order pizza for everyone else

In other news, after a day i burned about 1700kcals, i chumped down 1700kcal worth of ginger snaps. Let's see if i'm still 152lbs tomorrow morning.

Thank you.

Yes, I was too fat for this sport. I look at weight loss as a byproduct of fitness. I didn't try to lose a certain amount of weight, it just happened along with getting fitter and faster. I still have a ways to go to be competitive, but I'm not last up the climbs anymore.

Thanks, I started in July at 260, now at 220 but I still have a long way to go. At minimum I want to lose at least another 40 pounds.

Back to starting weight, but feel this is due to... stomach issues. I hope anyway. Definitely not as strict as in 2009-2010.

Am lifting a tiny bit as well - if I'm going to be a specialty rider, I need to work on my specialty stuff.

I did not hit the scale this morning but I pretty much have stayed at the same weight. I have hardly ridden my bike and had some really bad days food wise. But I am ready to begin training for 2011 so I will be on the bike a lot more which in turn will bring the weight down and I will be eating much better (I hope). 10-14lbs to loose by April shouldn't be a problem.

Congrats to all those dropping weight.

Actually, I do my "weigh in" on Fridays, but I keep a "floating log" the rest of the weeks.

Having said that, my goal has been to drop ~1# per week until mid-end of January, to give me a total of 10-12 #s loss. I'm ~6# down right now, which is a little faster than I wanted, but I'll take it.

Weighed myself this morning and the scales said 90kg - that's what I weighed at 18 or 19 with a lither build. My cal counting says that I ate 600 cal more than break even last week, so something must be off if I'm still dropping - I'm trying to maintain weight now so I don't lose any strength.

Anyway, if I keep at 90kg I only need to raise FTP by 8W to hit my goal of 4.2W/kg - and if I hit where I think I might on the test next week and am at 90kg that would mean 4.33W/kg. Either way, looking good but just need to make sure I don't screw it all up by catabolising my muscle.

Someone is serious. That's serious stuff.

Ditto on you Lowcel.

And, TmT (acceptable acronym for ya?), very well done.

JB -- I'm weighing in every month; I'll push it up a bit and weigh in again in 2 weeks to be in sync with the "timetable"
On November 5 or so, I indicated 4-8 to go.

Nov 2007 > 244lb (bought first bike)
Nov 2008 > 215lb
Nov 2009 > 200lb
Nov 2010 > 191lb (today, I have not been this light in 15 years)
Nov 2011 > 185lb?

I'm still fat (11% BF) but at 6'5 I will never be a climber

I'm 6'4" and 200lbs now and climbing is one of the things I'm OK at - I can't sprint but can go up short (1km or less) climbs faster than most in races and can hold my own on longer climbs to not get dropped by a lot of people.
