Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I wonder if any GMT countries with Starbucks locations don't have travel restrictions against the USA.

Hand crafted? In pandemic time, I want my beverage to come from a spout, untouched by human hands, after being brewed at sterilizing temperature. Thanks for your cooperation. The red cup is fine.

Starbucks. Ugh.

On a related note, the amount of time that I've recently spent researching $1000+ espresso grinders prolly doesn't bode well for 2021 bike crap purchases.

Do burnt beans and the 17oz of scalded milk in your Venti count?

I guess so. In the interest of full disclosure, we buy Starbucks beans for home use because they're decent quality and cheap at the local military commissary. They're definitely better than Peet's which is the other brand of beans they carry. I don't notice the burntness except in the ultra-well done, French and Italian roasts, which we don't often buy.

I've bought Sbucks for drip when in VA - it's fine. I'm speaking more of their espresso roasts - ick.
Along those lines, several years ago, when my brother and SIL found out that I was in to coffee, they gave me 6-8 bags of Sbucks beans for Christmas. It was a lovely gesture, but

Supposedly, the beans have that bite because the customers wanted to taste the "coffee" through all the added sugary ingredients they add into their concoctions.

Yeah, I don't drink that ****. I'll go to the cafe that carries SBUX at work occasionally as a social thing or to a store in a foreign city where it's the only thing available or the local product is dodgy.

I believe it. Even their non-flavored espresso drinks are just milk with a splash of coffee. With chocolate, caramel, vanilla, whipped cream? Forget it. Oh, and nothing like kicking off your day with 500 calories in your morning cup.
