Another one I had to look up! I knew I knew it, but didn't recognize it. Very creative again, but I would never remember it. I actually like the name Fred, but my BFF might get miffed since that was her exes name who broke her heat a gazillion years ago.

I will get pictures up when the rig is complete - I'm waiting for a custom frame bag. Though, all of that stuff is just "dressing". I'll take a photo of it naked perhaps later today. (Oh, the scandal!)

Thanks for the link (I like the vibe and song), but as a 53 year old female... who is probably a lot more like the character Fiona than not (definitely feminine without being girly - does that make sense?) But MUD is a cool name - just not for me. But I love the suggestion!

I name some of my bikes, mostly to make it easier for me to keep track of them in Strava.
I called my Surly Steamroller Bikey McBikeface.
I have an old Japanese road bike the manufacturer called Custom 12, but that's boring, so I call it the Red Rocket. It's ironically named, because it's about my slowest bike.
My All City Nature Boy came with a cool enough name, so I kept it.
Have to admit Surly's own model names are some of the best in the business. Ice Cream Truck? Krampus? They're having fun with it.

I'm thinking I'll add another name to think about - Vidalia. In the movie Shrek (Which I've seen a zillion times because of my teen with autism), Shrek tries to explain himself to Donkey, "Ogres are like Onions. We have layers". (Donkey retorts and says he should say he's like a cake because they also have layers, but everyone likes cake - unlike onions)

Actually, the worms merely went about their business. It was the invading, other-world humans who killed 'em. Those people were effectively were at war with anything that got in their way of "spice" extraction (which was created by those worms, not that they would have appreciated that). The people who actually lived there were of the live-and-let-live types, treating them as another co-habitant of the planet, sort of employing their great size and speed much like people use horses, and getting the "magic elixir" from baby worms. Sadly, I have never read Dune. My parter did and really liked it, but I haven't gotten around to it yet, even though it's a type of book I would like. I've only seen the movie (of the first of the series).

I admit to liking Surly Shirley, but I usually let things (and cats) name themselves. Patience is the key; it may take a few miles of riding for the name to become evident, but it will happen. That said, 10 minutes after I spotted what would become my heart bike, she was Pretty Purple Princess Penelope (aka the Princess).
