I predict only the lightest of women are participating in this. That's just how they roll.

Note it's only the guys who are posting their numbers?!? Even though the OP asked for women!
Maybe you can give him the keys to the "secret" women's forum?? Purely for research purposes, of course!

Male, 5"8' 135-140 pounds. Very very little body-fat %.
Most cyclists I see are much larger, even the fit ones with low body-fat are still usually taller and bigger people.

edit: ok, now i've read everything... funny how almost everybody who responded with their vitae statisticus is trim. from my observation of other cyclists on the road this is not the general case.

You said it: the ones you know.
Extremely thin isn't good for power.
There's a guy in town who's pretty heavy looking and rides a mountainbike on clubrides ... the average speed of the ride is often above 21mph and he's often leading the pack or taking sidetracks over hills just for fun. He hammers everyone when it comes to raw power.
I know some pretty thin women who cycle very well too.

I bet that there is a bigger spread of weight to height ratio in the female professional peloton among riders of the same style (climbers, sprinters, roleurs, etc) than for male professionals. I'm thinking the female pro peloton is not as deep with talent as the male peloton, maybe due to the lower interest in competitive cycling by women in general, the lack of financial reward or invective for elite female cycling, etc...

I'd venture to guess much less than the average male or female TV watcher/non cyclist.

Are you sure you're making your 'observations' in SoCal? Almost everybody I'd call a "cyclist" is < 15% body fat, with many being <10%. Even if you're just looking at everybody on a bike your numbers seem way high for this part of the country.
