I went to a riser handlebar with the original stem on my Nano soon after I got it. I have been toying with using a longer mountain bike/cruiser stem from my parts stash to get a slightly more upright riding position. That project was put on the back burner but your photo has motivated me to put it on the front burner. Did the taller stem have any effect on your Nano's handling?

If you are referring to the Nano, they are sold by Bikesdirect which offers free shipping to the lower 48. They will sell to Canadian buyers but the bike needs to be shipped to a US address. Here are their details for Canadian buyers: https://www.bikesdirect.com/canada/

In other words they don't really ship to Canada. You need to go into the US to pick it up. This works if you are close to the border. You then have to deal with Canada Customs (lots of fun expected). Bikes Direct is a touch misleading I would say. They really get you to do a lot of work for the bike. I decided not to buy the Nano because of this. Their more expensive bikes are maybe worth it.

You can buy a mini velo, frame or complete, directly from China on AliExpress as I did. The shipping is reasonable considering the distance and less than shipped from the US. Unfortunately some US and Euro dealers seem to think that paying 300-500$ is reasonable for shipping to Canada. They don't want to look at for less expensive alternative shipping methods. In the US you have Velo Orange and Kyoot Bikes that offer minivelos.

A new forum member asked a simple question. I provided an answer to that question. By doing so, I do not believe I was advocating for or against Bikesdirect, their business model or their shipping policies.

Sorry, my response was not directed to you but about Bikesdirect. I just wanted to explain my experience when I wanted to buy a Nano so the OP is aware. It's frustrating to go through the process of waiting for the bike to be back in stock, order the bike and realise that the shipping involves a particular process.

Your Welcome !

I have not noticed any disadvantage to have this new stem on the Nano. It certainly makes it more of an upright rider.
