Shockingly low temps this morning, but wow are those new tires (Michelin Power Protection+ before WhyFi gets excited) slow. Which actually works fine for me, Since they’re just for training.

I suppose that is reasonable, although I would say even 10 is too many. Would suggest break into groups of 3-5.

Our first crit is on the 28th, which also happens to be the same day I fly to Wichita to go get Lotus. Go figure.... Social distancing while signing up, masks on at the start line, and they will let us know when to remove them prior to the start. A good crit racer is within six feet of eight people during a race, and there is more than breath out there. I'm super tired of all the weird mixed messages out there, including our so called professionals and experts.

weighed myself this morning. I’m down to 170. 10 more to go, to reach my goal. I was near 230 this time last year.

My senior year of college and slightly beyond I lost 90 lbs. in 9 months. Many Thursdays during my last semester I would treat myself to.a Double Whopper with cheese, large fries and a strawberry shake.
What a great semester that was. Despite a full course load I only went to class 7 times a week. Three courses met one/week for 3 hrs. The other two met twice/week for 1.5 hrs. each time. And my last class was from 3-6 on Thursday. Maybe 7 people in it. The professor was very eclectic. We would meet in a diner. Sometimes we’d have beers. Had a 3 hr. gap before that class and would often take a quick 12 mile ride.

My first year truly out on my own, my weight dropped from 220 to 145 in a reasonably short time. Prolly a year. I had never bothered to learn about preparing meals or proper nutrition.

I used to count calories and plan all of my meals when I was back in college. It worked, at the time I was into body building so I would go through months of bulking and months of cutting.
Since I started cycling last year, my direction has been to over all fitness. Making the best choice when it comes to food, not over indulging, having ice cream when I want it, and I have seen really good results. I don’t keep track of my food, the only thing I do keep track of is my miles, and my steps and over all my health and fitness is better than when I was detailing everything I was putting into my body.
disclaimer: this is working for me now at this moment in my life, who knows what the future brings.

Exactly my take. I'm not doing it yet, but when I consider the tragic demographics of the disease and the dilution factor, cycling in a group seems relatively benign.
