That's not the point. Maybe someone knows her but does not know that she's missing. There may be 100 women out there with that tattoo and 99 of them are fine.
There's no one matching that description in the national missing person database. Women age 20 to 40 just don't go missing very often. In all of 2012, there were no women that age reported missing in CA, and only a handful of cases in all southwestern states (mostly women trying to cross the border illegally.) She could have been a recent immigrant from Mexico without strong ties to LA, and with no one to report her.

I have a friend who works for the LA Coroner and he's posted the query to Facebook, hoping for leads to her identity.

The remains of the woman, listed at the Los Angeles County Department of Coroner as Jane Doe No. 27, were discovered by county workers about 8:40 a.m. April 2 in the riverbed about 150 yards north of the Whittier Narrows Dam, and 100 yards west of Pico Rivera Bicentennial Park, coroner's officials said in a written statement.

Doesn't it sound like someone with a backpack containing two body sprays may have been homeless?

The one that went missing in 1995? Yeah, doubtful it's the same person. The tattoo seems recent (if it can be googled), the age is off, and coroner describes her as hispanic.
I have no idea why someone would carry two body sprays (and nothing else) in the backpack, but it does not sound like something a homeless person would do. I'd suspect a hooker, but size 16 petite pants are not exactly hooker geometry ... (but what do I know?)

Thanks. I find it odd that they can't tell you what color her eyes were, yet they can identify her as "hispanic". Is that DNA?
