Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

And no, she didn’t buy me a Wilier.

My sister and brother in law were both just given full suspension specialized mountain bikes for free. My brother in law can’t even ride a bike. Trying to convince him to trade for the Marlin 7.

I realized much too late. Being up and distracted I would never have caught on until people started talking about it.

The drums at the beginning of the Bob Seger system song Ramblin' gamblin' man are ripped off by Led Zeppelin on their song When the Levee Breaks. Discuss.

She's cranking along well, just over 21 miles now. Data looking strong; HR and cadence good and pace smooth except over jagged trails and her planned brief walking recoveries.

Being not even halfway through seems like craziness.

Today I was given a Da Brim if I want it. I tried it out on the way back from dropping Bob off in Baca. It adds some weight and some drag, but I will likely keep it. His wife accidentally bought two.

Not surprised, music business is a cutthroat business.

Another gusty day in the Valley.

If I had a wind farms in the back yard I could generate enough electricity to power DougRNS 's mower for the next 2,000 years.

not ‘too’ small - but maybe ‘tad’ on small side ?

58 cm - center-to-center or center-to-top ?

what length seat post ? how much seat post exposed ? (I realize that is not an indicator by itself - and given option I typically would go down size rather than go up)

( fumbled around but did not find pics I was searching for )

Yea that one is prolly on the small side, but it’s for crits. The geometry is so aggressive I’m not sure how a larger one would feel. I do have access to one just havnt ridden it yet.

And I'm the opposite ;.I will always go up a size. I'd rather be stretched out than be cramped
That Wilier is just tiny

There are five of us going to Mallorca for the 312. One of the guys could not weasel out of work for the 130 miler yesterday, so he did a long session today on the trainer. He does Rouvy and it said 110 miles and 6:15 on the trainer. There is NFW I could ever do over 6 hours on a trainer, my record I believe is about three and that sucked.

I thought about it, but each time I went through the cycle I got closer to it being fixed. BTW, it held air all the way back to the car, but was totally flat 5 hours later.

Yes and yes. Garmin 945LTE has her stuck ay 38.5, I assume due to cell signal issues. She has phone as well and there are semi frequent runners so not too worried. Used to constant tracking though. The course is gnarly.

Have pics but signal too weak to upload. Hard to hike the smoothest parts faster than 18:00 though.
