Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

Nice ride! Really slick colour combo.

10 speed cassette. Yes it's running in friction. Very smooth shifting.

Yikes, friction, even worse. But if it's 10s then an indexed 10s DA shifter would be pretty sweet. I love the ingenuity!

The friction works really well actually. I rarely even need to trim. The spacing is close enough that I'm never really between gears.
It's a SRAM RD, so I wouldn't be able to run an indexed Shimano shifter.

Yeah it'd be a rd swap. Cool frame though, I like it.

Ha, its just moving the shifter until you pedal at a frequency and speed you like. The tighter spacing of 10 and 11 speeds can sometimes make it tough to get chain chatter to stop, but thats really just relative to how easy it is on 6, 7, and 8 speed drivetrains to shift quickly and quietly.

I changed my 2x11 shifting to friction rear(its always friction front) a couple weeks ago as the rear derailleur wasnt being as precise as i wanted mid-ride. Simple to then shift for the rest of my ride and i shifted as much as as easily as when its indexed. Ill add though- my standards are low as compared to many others.

Oh I'm fully aware of friction, I just can't do it. Friction on 11s is a test of pain and torture lol.

You need to get Gevenvalle shifters.

That was my first choice but they are totally out of stock on every mechanical lever.

Just a PSA-
If you end up wanting to go the Gevenalle route(i have em, love em) then Universal has them in stock.
https://www.universalcycles.com/shop...s.php?id=78090
And you get free shipping as well as 10% off if you spend $150 and use 1921LScieur10 as a discount code.

So the 1x10 set would be $135 total.

My knee? It's a compact frame as is (short top tube, which I like for my short torso), so I would have knee strike with a bar end. Also, the cable is a lot shorter in this configuration.

This is my Soma Wolverine it's missing the rear brake in this pic but it is on there now. I also have replaced the charge saddle with a Selle Anatomica X saddle.

It's an Ibera Pakrak bag and rack. This is their biggest trunk bag with integrated panniers. Love them for commuting. Usually don't ride with it on the weekend but had to pick up some things at the store.

I do most of my riding on paved roads, but on that day I ventured onto a gravel road that eventually became a swamp.
