Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Audi’s gonna Audi - seems par for the course. IIRC Subaru fitted a hitch to my Outback for ~$300, but that was some years ago.

I have a Specialized Roubaix Sport bike if that makes a difference? Any help is greatly appreciated.
I have been using a Yakima roof system in the late 1980s. I like the roof rack because I can use it for moving more than just a bike. Plywood, sheet rock, other large items, a roof box, skis, etc etc.

Ill echo with what almost everyone has said here. Hitch mount is usually a better option.
I have a car (2019 Honda Insight) and still went with a hitch rack even though the car is plenty low enough to easily get a bike on and off the roof. The roof rack would have been more money ($800+ vs $400 for the hitch and rack) and had more negatives than I felt that it was worth. I run a RockyMounts Monorail because it is light and super easy to get the bike in and out. It also doesn’t touch the frame and doesn’t require removing the wheel.

I've got both types -- roof mount and hitch mount. I use the hitch mount more often, but prefer the roof mount.
