valid idea *except* I already have a Belloni @ 56cm (complete bike showroom fresh '76 gruppo) and a Bernard Vifian frame set @ 56cm as well

Not an uncommon problem. Tack it with some brass. The heat will give the shifters that extra bit of "patina" that this bike seems to crave.
