Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I saw a film last night of a guy catching an 8’ plus catfish that weighed 230 pounds. When I lived in IL, the harbor master at our sailing club fished for catfish at the dam. He caught stuff that was too big to bring on the boat so he just drug them behind his boat, and then pull them up on the shore to clean. He caught 5 footers pretty regularly.

Thank you for the gracious offer. I have an appointment on Monday with the pain management Doc and want to hear what he has to say. When you say records do you mean my CD with the MRI images on it?

I came across a video of a guy fishin' monster northerns, with a lure that looks like a duckling, last night. These were the kinds of beasts that made young me worry about digits, limbs, and pounds of flesh -

That’s why I don’t swim where I can’t see my toes.

We have alligator gar with mouths of ver sharp teeth.

I also don’t swim in lakes. I have to be able to see my toes.
I think if you can swim 300 yards you are a good swimmer.

There used to be a lake here which had a roped off area for swimming. There was a carp or catfish which was nibbling people's toes. This gave rise to rumors of a sea monster or some such nonsense.

I forgot about gar - we've got them in MN, but not that big, we've got the long- and shortnose variety. Never caught any of those other than in the Mississippi, which I wasn't swimmin' in, anyway.

Mask, snorkel and salt water makes it doable. I was just pushing my way thru the water. Wasn’t using any type of stroke.

I got picked as a potential juror for a trial where a florist delivery guy was being sued for spray painting a dog in the face after the dog chased him from the house and up in to his delivery van. The judge was quizzing us and I raised my hand when the question was asked if anyone thought they couldn't be impartial. My reply was that as a bike rider, I have no qualms about macing a dog that is trying to bite me. Dismissed!

My jury duty experience recently was an hour and a half spent in a really large room full of tables, each with one chair. As soon as I sat down, one of the clerks came in and said there was a delay in the trial. At least an hour passed, and two clerks came in, a man and a woman - masked, of course. The man said, "Mmmmmmfflemmmfflemmmmmfffffle" for about 30 seconds, while we all shouted, "WHAT?", till the woman finally said, "YOU'RE ALL EXCUSED!"

My Propel and my wife’s Amira both have white tape and have no trouble keeping them clean. I use Specialized Roubaix Pro tape. My wife’s bike has over 35,000 miles and probably been changed twice. Mine only has 11,000 miles and been changed. Couple times due to crashes, but not dirt.

We got at least 2.5+ last night, maybe more. Very pretty but tired of it.
