Nice bike. (flimsy fenders aside).

Raleigh is killing it lately. It's a shame that they don't have a better dealer network to take advantage of some of these designs.

The new 2009 Giant Seek1. Hadn't heard of this one. Still waiting on the stock touring/road-ish bike with internal gears.

The 2008 Brodie Ocho seems to have an Alfine.

Anyway, it still annoys me as I consider the simpler chainline to be a plus of IGH bikes. I understand that this makes it easier for manufacturers to implement it on more models, but I personally wouldn't buy an Alfine bike that used the tensioner.
The chain tensioner is there so you can use multiple front chain rings - not because they got lazy with the design. For a lot of people the gear range on an Alfine is not enough so the front chainrings give you a better range of gears while still keeping most of the benefits of an IGH. It would also make removing that rear wheel w/ disc rotor a whole lot easier.

I'm shocked to see a big name bike so lightly branded. I REALLY wish everyone else would follow suit.

It looks like it has a dynamo hub, but no light... Or am I just blind/crazy?

For the specs, it seems very expensive. Is the alfine group pricey or what?

Alfine is their top of the line internally geared hub, so I'm sure the rest of the Alfine components are

top notch.
