EKOI Stuff & TPU Tubes
So, last week I ordered a bunch of stuff from EKOI, received super fast in 2 days!
I haven't gotten new shoes in ages... My Sidis are still working great and no where used up, but... I could use another pair to alternate some more ... (I have 2 other pr , one PI and one Adidas)
EKOII R4 Carbon shoes - haven't used them yet, but have tried them on - Great Fit ! comfy !, I'm a US 11, 45 in SIdi (euro). EKOI also uses eu scale and equates that to Mondopoint...
I'm usually using 28.5 in Mondo, and EKOI 45 equates, per their chart.measure to 28.6. And, yes, they fit great!
EKOI Bibs - M - I'm 33 waist and these fit just perfect, excellent fabric, not too thick chamois and well shaped so it doesn;t 'bunch' in the crotch. Good leg hold without a heavy grip, stretch mesh upper/straps feel good - We'll see how well the hold up over time...
EKOI Base layer - M - fabric is nice, but not what I would call warm/hot weather appropriate. I have used, and they are perfect for our current conditions, high 60's to mid/higher 70's. Good moisture transport on some sweaty rides yesterday and today. I expect this to be good with only a jersey down to lower 50's... Stretchy and no binding anywhere.
EKOI Gloves - look/feel good, prolly gonna be very nice, when I start using them
Also got some TPU tubes (for road, 700x 23-32) which I ordered from China, about 1/2 price of Schwalbe Aerothan. Wanted to try on roadie. I have Schwalbe Aerothan on the gravel bike and like it for the 42mm tire I have on there. We'll see how this works for 23-25mm on road... (I'm old school and have no issues with still using 23 & 25... LOL!).
New stuff from EKOI & some Chinese TPU tubes.
Fun!

EDIT: On closer examination of the EKOI Carbon (R4) shoes, the supplied insoles are the crappiest insoles I've ever seen - by far. And I've seen and gotten some serious junk. Now, not a problem for me, because I always put aftermarket insoles in all my sport shoes, including those for riding...
Just a heads up for anyone who does buy this shoe, expect to get better insoles...

- Sleeveless and long sleeve baselayer (size L and fit is excellent)
- couple jerseys (size L and fit excellent)
- thermo jacket and the fit is REALLY off and I mean like WTF happened here? Torso is like XXL and the sleeves are like XS (I could live with the torso room but sleeves only go up to half my forearm. Even when I stretch them real hard, they do no reach my wrists. This will be a return.

Set of Aeolus Pro 51s. Out the tubed GP5000 tires with 2500 miles on them. Plan Moto go tubeless. But also put GR1 35mm set up tubeless on the Paradigm 25 wheels. They expanded to 37mm. So road set of carbon aero wheels and rough to gravel set.

Tomorrow I take it out again... and I'll air down to 72 frt/75 rr psi and see how that works...
Tires seem to be holding air for the past 6 days, quite well.
I guess my only concern is susceptibility to 'flats' and how complicated a 'repair' might be.
Given I ride higher grade road tires in 23-25, which are reasonably 'thin', it's a concern. I'm much less concerned using them in wider/thicker gravel or MTB tires.
I don't trash a tube just because it needs a patch. I re-use until I get at least 3-4 flats, so easy repair is also a Q.
Having read up, it seems the easiest 'repair' for TPU is to use a self-adhesive patch Like the Park Tools GP-2. ...
so we'll see about all that... I'll report back after a month of riding.

What’s hers is hers, what’s ours is hers, and what’s mine is hers. I live by that golden rule.
She did tell me I get to pay for it since she doesn’t work though.
She is a keeper, and we’ve been together a long time and have had a good life together. That’ll never change.

I got another Cinelli #3 leather saddle in pretty good shape. It was in my watch list on eBay. The price was 75 and it is in “rider” condition so I was going to offer 70 for it but I was in a hurry so I just put it in my watch list for later. I was then notified that the seller was offering the saddle for 65 so I hit the buy it now ‘accept offer . I had not paid much attention when I looked at it . The seat was pictured still mounted on the seat post and when it showed up , it was with a 27.2 Campagnolo non-fluted pin! So, an ok deal turned into a super deal. The seat post was ugly with dirt when I looked at the pic but I was paying attention to the seat so I dunno I just overlooked it. It cleaned up nicely with very little scarring below insertion area. The saddle had a couple of scuffs but no cracking, I just love the #3 saddles , they work for me . That and the Brooks Professional. I really need to pay attention when I’m looking at the offerings , when I revisited the ad it clearly stated that the seat post was included! Yea, positive feedback for sure.

Cannondale R500 Crest 63cm
Got lucky, and found this one in my size about an hour away. Not a grail bike for me (those would be a 7-11 Merckx, or Lemond Alpe d'Huez) It's a Frankenbike. Seller bought it used at a shop in Lynchburg, VA. 105 crank, shifters and brakes, Mavic 840 rear. 860 front, Campy Chorus headset, Nitto blue stem, Cinelli Giro bars, non original Specialized saddle. I think it had blue cable housings and white brake hoods originally. I may get the saddle that came original with a, Vetta Carrera, or use my Blue Parsons B-17 knockoff. I'll probably swap out the whole group for a Microshift R9 or anything with brifters.

Picked this dream machine up today for my daughter. She wanted red, but I can’t have her going faster than me.
