The FreeBSD Project

You can spend a lot less than 300 bucks on a used laptop if you're not into running windows. I recently picked up a Thinkpad T61P on E-Bay for less than 75 bucks because I'll be loosing my corporate laptop pretty soon. Spent another 30 on a new battery.

But if you're not into running alternative operating systems, Microsoft isn't the big bad evil corporation they once were. Since Ballmer vacated the CEO spot they've made vast strides on cleaning up their business practices and being more open and compatible with the rest of the world. Even if they do still insist on spying on their users.

Today I've got diarrhea and a very sore lower back. Life really sucks sometimes.

Today the wind from what's left over of the hurricane is starting to blow in ATL. A gust uprooted a large butterfly bush in my backyard. Needed to be cut back hard anyway.

Today I drove down to a bridge that's getting replaced in my area. Its part of a popular cycling route and allows riders to avoid a small but busy commercial area and local high school traffic. The project manager is really cool and said that it won't be open officially but that it might be ready to ride across in the next week. I want to be the first one to cross it.

Yeah, but then you just have a buggy windows laptop and not a real computer. Zing!

That is seriously just a joke.

I quit porn seven years ago. Haven't looked at it since.

I've had other addictions in the past but this was different, really tough, but it can be done.

Quitting things that are problematic in your life is good. For me it happens to be more like whatever the opposite of a problem is.

good luck and have fun @50voltphantom.

I kicked down 4hrs this morning b4 work, low/mid z2 between four z4/5 ~5min climbs. Bailed on the last one, not because I was cooked or tired, but just due to laziness.

"I'll be that much fresher for my workout tomorrow", I told myself.

Also, I'm looking forward to this time change, spending the first 45min of my rides in the dark is no fun.

What time do you normally leave for your rides? My schedule is getting kinda hectic now, and I want to try riding in the morning.

I use Complete Sun and Moon Data for One Day to figure out when it will be light enough to ride. Civil twilight is when it is jus light enough out that I can start to recognize colors.

I did an FTP test this morning on Zwift. I have crappy power.

Of course, I don't have plans to race or anything, so I guess that's ok. However, training and boosting my numbers is kind of fun at the moment, so we'll see how that goes.
