I've been watching the same bikes for the past year and a half with no price changes on the Seattle craigslist. Some things never change, I guess.

There's a guy that's had a nice dark grey Motobecane frameset for sale for at least two years with the price at $180. It's time to come down, bro. My stuff may be on there for some time, but the price continually gets lowered, respective of time etc, and things do sell, though perhaps not as quickly as I'd like. Most of the time it moves well enough.

This bike has been on CL for at least a year - same photo, same price - and it gets re-posted every day or two. Time for a new sales strategy.

$1100

Trials bike

I think the forks may have some damage.

The fork has always looked good to me. That's as aligned as it can be. Now that Trek 620 that another BF'er was thinking of checking out--that had a cranked out fork that looked like someone jumped on top of the stem and shoved the front wheel forward. Yikes.

Keep at it for a couple of more years, then change the title to "Vintage Trials Bike", and increase the price?

I bet that portion of the market is tough. A lot of money invested in the bikes, and a very limited audience. E-Bay in the spring?

Here's another one.
Buy the smallest bike you can find.
Then put the seat post and bar stem as high as they will go.

Georgena Terry Symmetry Women's Bicycle, 21 speeds, Excellent Condition - $325

Love this bike, it's just too small for me.
I believe the bike is 700c rear x 24 (520) front.

I bought my petite wife a Terry bike. That seat post is high, but the handelbar stem were intentionally tall so the rider can ride more upright.

The damage to the fork on this bike is IMPRESSIVE. And of course no mention of it in the ad.

Also needs a FD.

The seller does mention:

It needs a tune-up and new brakes.
The rear appears to have dual pivot long reach brake calipers. I wonder if there is a relation between the lack of brakes, and the fork damage, and perhaps the sale.

I don't see frame damage in the photos.

Cute!!!

It almost looks homebuilt, but the workmanship looks too clean to be homebuilt.

I don't think I'd pay full price, but it would make great wall-art for $25.

At least one doesn't have to worry about the chain.

Man, I must be lucky. Most of these baby boomers in New England are happy to meet young people who are into 10 speeds, etc. just as much as they are. Thusly they always cut me deals. 9 times out of 10 I can use their enthusiasm as a bargaining chip!

I would love the Dingle cog and the lock ring. Also the Sim works bars and the Shimano 105 hubs

A lot of us on the CV are BB's so I would tread lightly on that bargaining chip thing.
