their bike "chair" looks a little low to be set up properly for an ironman...

WTF? On the other hand, a ghost bike themed DeRosa fixie, drewed and repainted by Joe Bell himself, has got to be wiorth at least a little bit.

I'm not a fan of the bike as a whole, but there's no doubt Mr. Bell has done some fine work on that frame.

I sent this message ...

"How many spokes does a Mavic Elite front wheel have? (Hint: 20 is not the right answer)."

Update: The seller not only replied but posted the question to the listing. I can only assume he/she is blissfully unaware of the faux pax. I'm guessing someone put Elite stickers on an Equipe wheel and managed to pass it off as an Elite. This is both sad and funny at the same time. The seller even relisted the item, but for the obvious reason still can't seem to attract any bids.

Maybe whoever built them had a 20h front hub to work with and just decided that the few grams of extra weight from using two rear rims was better than forking out more money for another hub.

On the wheels, he did post your question also answered, "Is this a trick question? My answer: 20 spokes (that's because it's a radial laced front wheel)". Not sure that explains it, but doesn't come across as a scam exactly, either.

How about we just drive to Houston and pick up a 16x2.125 inner tube for $2, thereby saving $2 over the Walmart price?
https://houston.craigslist.org/bik/1577309185.html
It wouldn't seem so bad, except I'm pretty sure this is the 3rd or 4th time at least that I've seen it listed, over a several month period.

Priceless, this one is where I live so I'm seriously tempted to check it out. If it's not a scam it seems pretty cheap for a bike with Ultegra components so it's probably stolen.

I love the bit about "double buttered seams". Sounds more like a good french pastry than a bike :-D Oh and I'd love to see someone 5"10 riding a 50cm. I'm built like a 5'7" T-Rex and even I ride a 54cm.

I got about 4 or 5 lines into that BS Trek ad before my eyes hurt and I couldn't read it anymore.
Ugh...
Though glancing through it, this line got me...
"For the last time, scammer’s cannot and will not scam well educated person like me with lots of common sense, wisdom, and well educated mine and I repeat that with stress, so don’t even try to scam me!"
Well... Educated?

A new low on the Asheville, NC Craigs List.

Title is "bike: $250".

Description: "it is a blue bike the fornt brank is missed up"

Got to watch out for those branks when they are missed up. They can be really hard to un-miss up.

It seems to me that with custom bikes, particularly lowriders, a lot of the fun must be in putting it together. Cause it seems you can put $800 worth of parts on a bike and then can't sell it for $200 when you're done.

I see that tricycle has struts sticking behind it with castors on the end. This seems to be a failsafe mechanism because the trike tips back a lot, since there's so much weight behind the rear axle.

Does this sound a bit over-priced, or is it just me. I was going to post this in the tread about bent forks but couldn't find it. It might also be appropriate for the 'Fuji Bikes are Fantastic!!!" thead. Instead I'll put it here because it's on craigslist.

*edit* this probably isn't 'wacky' at all, just more a point of interest to me.
